This weekend was a relatively quiet weekend for Wake Hockey. We began the weekend with a shutout at Liberty and then had homecoming weekend off. If you haven't been to Liberty University's campus, I would recommend it. It is one of the most beautiful campuses we have been to all year. And their facilities are rather nice, too.
Although we had the weekend off, it did not mean that we did not spend time together. On Friday night, there was the President's Ball. For those of you who didn't attend Wake when President Hatch was began his presidency, the Presidents Ball is a biannual dance that takes place the week of Homecoming. The ball was held at the Joel Coliseum and had two dance floors, one in the Jazz Room and another downstairs where a band was playing. For the team, it was a nice chance to celebrate being members of the Wake community and dress up.
Then, Saturday we all went to the football game and were greeters for the game. It was nice to dress up in black and gold and support the football team, especially since it was Homecoming. We also ran into a Wake alum, Chris Paul, who smiled and took a group picture with us.
As the regular season winds down, it's nice to end at home. I know everyone is looking forward to the next two weekends where we will be on our own turf.
