BLACKSBURG, VA. - Junior Anna Nosenko won the title in the 5,000m run and fell just shy of the NCAA automatic qualifying time in the event as the Deacons continued action on the second day of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships inside Rector Field House.

Junior Erin Brooks posted a personal-best mark in the long jump competition with a length of 19-2 (5.84m), more than enough to secure a ninth-place finish in the event.

Freshman Mytoia Gathings continued her fantastic season by running yet another sub-7.8 60m dash and completing the event with a time of 7.76. It was not enough to advance to Saturday's finals, but the current school record holder has shown that she can consistently put up superb times in the event.

Following is an event-by-event breakdown of the action from the second day of the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships:

60m Dash
Mytoia Gathings has developed into a sprinting specialist in just a short time, again showing her speed with a 7.76 time and a 21st-place finish in the preliminaries of the event.

200m Dash
Just like the 60m, Mytoia Gathings was the lone participant for the Deacs. Her time of 25.20 was enough for a 25th-place finish in the event's preliminary rounds.

400m Dash
Senior Nicole Castronuova, the most experienced member of the women's track and field team, turned in a 17th overall finish, crossing the line in 57.27.

800m Run
Freshman Caitlin Hartnett registered a solid finish of 25th in the preliminaries of the 800m event after recording a time of 2:19.42. The Solon, OH, native is continuing to develop into a very reliable mid-distance runner for the Deacs.

5,000m Run
Anna Nosenko pulled off the incredible feat of winning the championship of the 5,000m run event. She captured the title with an unbelievable time of 16:09.64 which topped her previous personal-best by nearly ten seconds. Freshman Marley Burns also participated for the Deacons, finishing with a time of 17:48.91 to record an 18th-place finish overall.

Distance Medley Relay
The DMR team of Caitlin Hartnett, Nicole Castronuova, Kim Vos and Casey Fowler performed very well for Wake, placing 10th overall in 12:14.80. The time was a season-high by the women's team for the event.

Long Jump
Erin Brooks recorded a personal-best leap of 19-2 (5.84m) and finished ninth overall. The finish was her third top-10 of the season in the event.

Weight Throw
Junior Carmen Green wrapped up the day's field events for the Deacons with a toss of 44-0.75 (13.43m) to finish 15th in the weight throw competition.

Live coverage for Saturday's events, highlighted by finals in the majority of the track events, can be seen on www.theACC.com beginning at 11:00 a.m. with the women's shot put and triple jump and concluding at 3:40 p.m. with the men's 4x400m relay.
