Deacs Wrap Up Competition at ACC Outdoor Championships

DURHAM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's track and field team wrapped up competition at the ACC Outdoor Championships Saturday evening at Duke University's Wallace Wade Stadium.
Sophomore Allison Homer led the Deacs in the 5,000-meter run, while the duo of Erin Brooks and Phoebe Kershaw paced Wake Forest in the triple jump. Carmen Green recorded a 13th-place finish in the hammer throw.
Following is an event-by-event breakdown of action from the third and final day of the ACC Outdoor Championships.
5,000m
Sophomore Allison Homer turned in a terrific performance in her first 5,000m race of the season, crossing the finish line in 17:02.26 to finish 12th among 33 runners. Senior Marley Burns also represented the Deacs in the event, finishing in 17:54.23 to place 26th overall.
4x100m Relay
The 4x100m relay team of Mytoia Gathings, Myesha Barr, Anneve Waithe, and Erin Brooks turned in a season-best time of 47.21 to claim seventh place in the event. That mark improves upon the time of 47.31 set by the squad at last weekend's Vertklasse Meeting.
4x400m Relay
The 4x400m relay squad of Myesha Barr, Allison Johnson, Jordyn Glaser, and Gwen Ricco turned in a time of 3:51.40, the best mark of any Wake Forest 4x400 team this season, to finish 11th overall.
Hammer Throw
Junior Carmen Green finished 13th in the hammer throw with a distance of 139-8. Green also finished tenth in the discus throw on Thursday evening.
Triple Jump
Junior Erin Brooks and freshman Phoebe Kershaw led the Deacs in the triple jump as they have done all season, with Brooks finishing 11th (39-2.5) and Kershaw claiming 14th place (38-1.5).
