Wake Forest Heads to HPU VertKlasse Meeting

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After setting numerous personal marks last week and breaking several school records last weekend in the Wake Forest Open, the Wake Forest track and field team will compete in the HPU VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University.
The meet will take place all day on Saturday on the campus of High Point University with some throwing events happening on Friday.
Katie Adair who set the new school record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.95m, will compete in the event on Saturday with Sydney White.
Brianna Dekine and Erin Brooks are slated for the 400m while Myesha Barr will run in the 200m. Kendal Knous is scheduled for the 200m, an event in which she won last weekend with a time of 2:14.73.
Erika Martin will compete in several events including the 100m hurdles while Montasia Golden is in the 400m hurdles. Nyki Caldwell headlines the high jump while Brooks will be in the long jump with Julie McCauley and Golden.
On the men's side, Daniel Harrison represents the Deacs in the 200m while Sean Lunkenheimer and Malcolm Nunley will run the 400m hurdles.
Michael Rufrano who set a personal best in the high jump last week is back in the event. Steve Michaelsen is slated for the shot put and the discus, while Nate Wooten will throw the discus as well. Wooten will also be in the hammer throw.
Wake Forest will compete in the Raleigh Relays next weekend beginning on Friday in Raleigh, N.C.
