Wake Forest Heads to University of Kentucky Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After a multitude of first place finishes at the Wake Forest Invitational last weekend, the Wake Forest men's and women's track teams return to action on Friday at the University of Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, Ky.
The meet will begin on Friday evening with the weight throw at 5:00 p.m. and the distance medley relay slated to begin at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday the field events will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the women's high jump, and the running events are slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. with the women 60m hurdles semi-finals. All events will take place in the E.J. Nutter Field House.
DMR
The men will be entering one team to compete, and the women will be entering two teams.
60m Hurdles
In the 60 meter hurdles competing for the women are Erika Martin, Hunter Roberts and Alyssa Thompson, representing the men will be Malcolm Nunley. Martin broke her personal best record last weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational with a mark of 8:98.
60m Dash
Competing for the Deacs will be senior Mytoia Gathings.
1 Mile Run
Representing Wake Forest will be sophomore Ashley Brubaker and sophomore Ryan Horgan.
400m Dash
Senior Malcolm Nunley is competing for the Demon Deacons.
800m Run
Contending for the women are Marie Johnston, Kendal Knous, Kathryn Lazarchick, Tessa Riley and Natalie Sukramani. Competing for the men are Thomas Bojanowski, Kyle Eager and Simon Holden. Sukramani broke her personal best record last weekend with a time of 2:20.49.
200m Dash
In the 200m dash, Mytoia Gathings represents the women and Daniel Harrison represents the men.
3,000m Run
Participating for the women will be Samantha Jones and Kristin Weisse. Weisse placed first in the 3,000m at the Wake Forest Invitational last weekend with a time of 10:26.33. Participating for the men in the 3,000m run will be Connor Crowley, Tom Finneran, Evan Little, Jacob Poyner and Alexander Rose.
4x400 Relay
The Demon Deacon women will race one team.
Weight Throw
Throwing for the women is freshman Casidy Callahan. For the men, representing the Demon Deacons will be Charlie Ionata, Kyle Johnson, Teddy Mottola and Nate Wooten. Ionata threw for a best last weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational with a mark of 16.91m as did Johnson with a mark of 16.52m.
High Jump
Contending for the women will be Nyki Caldwell, Erika Martin and Alyssa Thompson and for the men is Michael Rufrano.
Shot Put
Set to compete for the women is Casidy Callahan, and for the men Steve Michaelsen.
Pole Vault
Vaulting for the Deacons will be Katie Adair, Madison Bragg and Sydney White. Vaulting for the men is Scott Marshall who tied the current school record at the JDL College Classic on Dec. 7, 2013 with a mark of 5.00m.
Triple Jump
In the triple jump, Montasia Golden represents the women and William Ray represents the men.
Next up the Demon Deacons will head on the road to Blacksburg, Va. to compete in the Hokie Invitational on Jan. 24-25.
