Deacs Set to Compete at Hokie Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After a strong showing at the Kentucky Collegiate Invitational last weekend, the Wake Forest men's and women's track teams return to action on Friday at the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va.
The meet will begin on Friday evening at 5 p.m. in the Rector Field House and continues on Saturday with the field events beginning at 11:00 a.m. and the running events slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
60m Dash
In the 60 meter dash are Mytoia Gathings and Hunter Roberts.
60m Hurdles
Racing for the Deacs are Erika Martin, Hunter Roberts, Alyssa Thompson and Malcolm Nunley.
200m
In the 200m dash, Mytoia Gathings and Alyssa Thompson will compete for the women and Daniel Harrison and Michael Mastanduno for the men.
300m
Competing for the Deacs will be senior Mytoia Gathings for the women, and Daniel Harrison and Malcolm Nunley for the men.
400m
Representing Wake Forest will be freshman Jacquelyn Bedingham and freshman Sam Beckerman.
600m
Contending for the women are Kendal Knous and Natalie Sukramani. Contending for the men are Kyle Eager, Malcolm Nunley and Brady Wilson.
1000m
Sophomore Kendal Knous and junior Natalie Sukramani will race for the women. Thomas Bojanowski, Kyle Eager and Alex Krall will race for the men.
1 Mile
Freshmen Ellie Abrahamson and Billy Fayette will compete for Wake Forest.
3,000m
Representing Wake Forest will be Sarah Fahmy and Garrett Drogosch. This will be the first meet of the season for Fahmy who is a freshman distance runner.
4x400 M Relay
The women will enter one team composed of Erika Martin, Amy Collins, Montasia Golden and Alyssa Thompson.
High Jump
Contending for the women will be Nyki Caldwell, Amy Collins and Alyssa Thompson and contending for the men will be Michael Rufrano.
Pole Vault
Vaulting for the Deacs will be Katie Adair, Madison Bragg, Syndey White, Michael Cyphers and Scott Marshall. Adair placed first at the Kentucky Collegiate Invitational last weekend with a mark of 3.90m which automatically qualifies her for ACC Indoors. This will be the first competition for Cyphers.
Long Jump
Representing Wake Forest are Montasia Golden, Erika Martin, Julie McCauley, Alex Krall and Michael Mastanduno.
Triple Jump
In the triple jump are Montasia Golden, Phoebe Kershaw and William Ray.
Shot Put
Competing for the Deacs will be freshman Casidy Callahan and sophomore Steve Michaelsen.
Weight Throw
Throwing for Wake Forest will be Casidy Callahan, Charlie Ionata, Kyle Johnson and Teddy Mottola.
Next weekend, Wake Forest track and field will race at home in the Hilton Garden Invitational in the JDL Fast Track on Jan. 31-Feb. 1.
