Wake Forest Prepped for Virginia Tech Elite Meet

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Following a strong showing at home last weekend in the Hilton Garden Invitational, the Wake Forest men's and women's track and field team will head back to Blacksburg for the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet this weekend in Blacksburg, Va.
The events will begin Friday, Feb. 7th at 5 p.m. in the Rector Field House with the women's long jump and the women's mile.
60m Dash Prelims
Competing for the Deacs will be Mytoia Gathings and Hunter Roberts.
200m Open
For the women Mytoia Gathings, Erika Martin and Alyssa Thompson are slated to compete. Participating for the men will be Michael Mastanduno and Malcolm Nunley.
800m
Participating for the women are Marie Johnston, Kendal Knous, and Kathryn Lazarchick. Participating for the men are Kyle Eager, Kyle Graves, Simon Holden and Thomas Bojanowski.
1 Mile
Set to compete for the women is Samantha Jones. For the men, Evan Little, Jake Poyner and Alexander Rose will compete.
60m Hurdles Prelims
Racing in the prelims are Amy Collins, Erika Martin, Hunter Roberts and Alyssa Thompson.
Pole Vault Unseeded
Vaulting for the Deacs are Madison Bragg, Sydney White, Michael Cyphers and Alex Krall.
Long Jump
Competing for the Deacs are Erika Martin, Alyssa Thompson and Michael Mastanduno.
Weight Throw
Throwing for the Deacs are Casidy Callahan, Charlie Ionata, Kyle Johnson, Teddy Mottola and Nate Wooten.
The second day of the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet will begin on Saturday morning with the high jump at 11 a.m. and the 3,000m at 1 p.m.
