Wake Forest Student-Athletes Celebrate Graduation Day

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest University held its annual commencement ceremonies on Monday with 58 Demon Deacon student-athletes receiving their undergraduate degrees.
Held on Hearn Plaza in front of Wait Chapel, the graduation featured student-athletes from all of Wake Forest's athletic teams. With 58 student-athletes receiving their undergraduate degrees, two more student-athletes walked on Monday and will complete their degrees in the fall while three more are graduating with a master's degree.
The 2016 commencement speaker this year was Eboo Patel, a leading voice for interfaith cooperation and the founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). He was on President Barack Obama's inaugural Faith Council and is a regular contributor to the public conversation around religion in America.
Following the ceremony, Wake Forest Athletics held a reception in the Miller Center for its graduating student-athletes.
