The Eagles netted the game-winning goal in the 84th minute.
NEWTON, Mass. -- No. 3 Wake Forest suffered its first ACC loss of the season to Boston College, 2-1, on the road Friday night.
Eagles (6-2-2, 1-2-1 ACC) freshman Stefan Sigurdarson had a career night by scoring both goals, including the game-winner in the 84th minute.
The Demon Deacons (8-2-0, 3-1-0 ACC) came up empty-handed despite holding an 18-8 advantage in shots and 8-3 margin in corners.
"Tonight was not a good night for us," head coach Bobby Muuss said. "I thought the first half was pretty good but not the second half, as we lost our discipline and our rhythm. Credit to BC, they wanted it more and deserved it. With each game we learn more about ourselves and we have a long way to go."
Machop Chol scored the lone goal for Wake Forest, heading in a cross from Alistair Johnston in the 27th minute which tied the game at 1-1.
Christian Garner was solid in goal for the Eagles, stopping five of Wake Forest's six shots on goal. Andrew Pannenberg made three saves for the Deacs.
Wake Forest returns home to take on High Point on Tuesday night on ACC Network.
