The Matchup
• The Demon Deacons hit the road Wednesday, traveling to Coastal Carolina for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
Last Time Out
• No. 3 Louisville took two out of three games from Wake Forest, with the Demon Deacons earning the upset win on Saturday.

• Wake Forest returns seven starters from one of the top offenses in the country. The Demon Deacons led the ACC in scoring last year with 7.8 runs per game.
• The Demon Deacons feature a trio of preseason All-Americans. Bobby Seymour was the ACC Player of the Year a season ago, while Chris Lanzilli is also a returning All-American. Shane Muntz was recognized by the NCBWA as a second team preseason All-American at DH.
• Compared to this point in the 2019 season, the Deacs have taken a leap forward statistically across the board. The Deacs have improved the team average (.276 to .278), home runs (15 to 23), fielding percentage (.963 to .977), ERA (5.16 to 4.21), opponent average (.252 to .225) and walks allowed per game (4.7 to 3.8).

• Wake Forest is 16-23 all-time against Coastal Carolina. Last year, the Chanticleers earned a pair of wins in Conway by scores of 10-9 (12 innings) and 14-8.
• Coastal Carolina enters with a 10-5 overall record and is coming off a series win over Middle Tennessee State over the weekend. The Chanticleers currently have a top-20 strength of schedule.
