
Wake Forest Set to Host George Washington Tuesday

The Demon Deacons will look for a third-straight victory on Tuesday night when they host A-10 side George Washington at Spry Stadium.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest men's soccer returns to Spry Stadium on Tuesday night, hosting George Washington in the team's seventh non-conference match this season.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the match will air live on ACC Network Extra.
Fan Information
A number of new fan experience enhancements are planned for the 2021 season. This includes expanded food and beverage options, including availability on Walt Chyzowych Alumni Hill, an enhanced in-game experience, featuring an expanded video board production with additional cameras, replay, and fan-engaging elements, as well as new immersive experiences to promote the unique culture that is known around professional and collegiate soccer.

Ticket Information
The best way to enjoy Demon Deacon soccer throughout the 2021 season is through the purchase of Season Tickets. Packages start at only $45 for adults or $25 for youth and seniors.
For those wishing to purchase single-game admission for Spry Stadium, advance purchases are highly encouraged. Single game chairback seats are available for only $20, while bleacher admission is $10.

Health & Safety Protocols
Wake Forest Athletics works closely with Wake Forest University, Forsyth County and state officials to follow COVID-related guidelines for the safety of fans in attendance at Truist Field and all venues. While proof of vaccination is not currently required for spectators, we encourage vaccinations for all. We are proud that nearly 100% of Wake Forest Athletics student-athletes, staff and coaches are vaccinated, as required under University and Athletics policy. Currently, all academic buildings are closed to visitors, and masks are required in all indoor spaces. For additional information regarding steps the University is taking to minimize the risk of COVID-19 transmission on campus, we strongly encourage you to review the University's COVID-19 Notice.
Wake Forest has several gameday guidelines and strategies. First and foremost is required face coverings for all unvaccinated fans in attendance. Additionally, all fans must wear a mask indoors at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Wake Forest Athletics also requires all non-team personnel to be masked at all times inside the field enclosure.
The Matchup

Wake Forest and George Washington will meet for the first time since the 2016 season on Tuesday night.

Wake Forest is 4-3-0 at Spry Stadium this season while George Washington has a road record of 1-4-2.

The teams have two common opponents on the season in Liberty and William & Mary. Wake Forest lost to Liberty 1-0 and defeated William & Mary 4-0, while George Washington beat the Flames 2-1 and lost to the Tribe 1-0.

This will mark the third-ever meeting between the two schools. The previous two matchups ended in draws.

Wake Forest secured its second Atlantic Coast Conference victory on the season, taking down North Carolina 2-1 on Friday night at Dorrance Field.

After a 0-0 halftime showing, senior Kyle Holcomb opened the scoring in the 49th minute. Sophomores Hosei Kijima and Chase Oliver recorded the assists.

North Carolina, however, tied up the match just five minutes later.

Then in the 88th minute, sophomore Garrison Tubbs was fouled inside the box before redshirt junior Jake Swallen scored the game-winning goal.

With two talented goalkeepers the team can count on, both Alphin and redshirt sophomore Cole McNally have recorded more than 300 minutes in net this season. McNally's most recent outing was a clean sheet against William & Mary while Alphin sports a 4-3-1 record.
Scouting the Colonials

Tuesday will mark the non-conference finale for George Washington and the first time this season the Colonials have faced an ACC opponent.

The Colonials opened the season with a 4-0 victory over VMI and have also secured wins against Liberty and Fordham.

Since the Fordham victory on Sept. 25, George Washington is 0-3-1 with its most recent result being a 0-0 draw with UMass.

Seven different Colonials have found the back of the net this season, led by Oscar Haynes Brown's four goals.
