Wake Forest Heads to No. 7 Virginia on Saturday

The last time Wake Forest faced the Cavaliers came during the 2019 NCAA Quarterfinals with the Deacs winning, 4-2.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 14 Wake Forest men's tennis team is set to travel to Atlantic Coast Conference for No. 7 Virginia on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville for a non-conference match.
The Deacs has won four of the last five matches in the series including going 3-1 during the 2018-19 campaign. Additionally, Wake Forest and Virginia have met in the ACC Championship match in four of the past five seasons.
First serve against Cavaliers is set for 3 p.m. at the Sheridan Snyder Tennis Center.
The last time the Demon Deacons and Cavaliers squared off came in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals in 2019 with Melios Efstathiou and Siddhant Banthia each picking up crucial singles wins to help Wake Forest advance, 4-2.

LAST TIME
The No. 16 Wake Forest men's tennis team collected a pair of wins in the home opener on Sunday afternoon, improving to 62-1 since the start of the 2016-17 season.
- Henri Squire picked up his first win and first ranked win of the season after not playing in the opening weekend of the season, knocking off No. 32 Rodrigues. He helped Wake Forest to a 4-3 victory over No. 20 South Carolina for the Deacs' first ranked win of the season.
- Wake Forest closed out the day with an easy 7-0 victory over in-state Davidson, giving the Deacs their second win of the afternoon. Five of the six singles wins came in straight-set fashion.
NEXT UP
The Deacs return home for a pair of matches on Saturday, Feb. 13 against East Tennessee and Campbell.
The first serve against the Buccaneers is scheduled for 11 a.m. while the match against the Camels is set for 6 p.m. at Wake Forest Tennis Center.
