This marks the fifth time in the last six seasons Wake Forest has placed a player on the honor’s watch list.

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Wake Forest tight end Brandon Chapman earned a spot on the 2021 John Mackey Award Watch List, as announced by the John Mackey Foundation.

The award is annually given to college football's top tight end. This marks the fifth time in the last six seasons a Demon Deacon has been named to the watch list, including the second-straight year Chapman has landed on the list.

Additionally, the Demon Deacons are now the only ACC school to have a player on the John Mackey, Doak Walker, Biletnikoff and Paul Hornung Award Watch Lists this season.

Chapman started all nine games at tight end in 2020, reeling in five passes for a total of 65 yards, good for a career-high 13 yards per catch. Against Wisconsin in the Duke's Mayo Bowl, Wake Forest's fifth-straight bowl game, Chapman caught a pair of passes for 40 yards, including a career-long 25-yard reception.

In his career, Chapman has suited up in 45 games for the Demon Deacons.
