
Deacs Travel to Liberty University for Weekend Action

LYNCHBURG, VA — Wake Forest's track and field programs are competing in their sixth meet of the indoor season over the weekend. The Darius Dixon Invite, hosted by Liberty University, will take place on both Friday Feb. 11th and Saturday Feb. 12th.
Aaron Las Heras and Thomas Vanoppen will take will be competing at the Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invite in the 5000m and mile.
Last Time Out
In their previous team action, the Demon Deacons competed on their own turf as they hosted the Camel City Classic. In said meet, Wake Forest's athletes were able to tally one school record in the men's mile set by Thomas Vanoppen as well as three first place finishes and an additional 12 top-5 placements.
In more recent action, Addison Berry placed second in the women's pentathlon at the Queen's February Multi & Track Meet, which was held this past Tuesday, Feb. 8th.
Who Is Competing
Wake Forest will face tough competition as they face off against 23 other colleges including Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Navy, Penn and William & Mary.
32 Wake Forest athletes (16 women and 16 men) are scheduled to participate in 18 different events over the two day period.
