
No. 6 Wake Forest Looks to Stay Perfect at Home, Hosting No. 29 NC State & Bluefield State

Wake Forest is set to play outdoors at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex for the second time this season, hosting NC State and Bluefield State on Thursday.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Coming off an out-of-state trip, No. 6 Wake Forest men's tennis will look to further its perfect home record this weekend, bringing in big four rival No. 29 NC State (10-4, 1-2 ACC) and non-conference foe Bluefield State (3-4, 0-0) for their eighth home doubleheader of the season.
Wake Forest is set to play outdoors at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex for the second time this season. The Demon Deacons, currently No. 6 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national rankings as NC State stands at No. 29 nationally.
MATCH SCHEDULE

PROMOTION THEME
It's the familiar game everyone knows and loves, but with a tennis twist. Be one of the 10 people to get bingo with tennis terms and actions that occur during the match and win a prize pack. Pick up your bingo sheet at the fan experience table on the way in.
FAN INFORMATION
If the matches are moved indoors, all patrons ages 12 and older will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test taken within 48 hours of the event in order to enter the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center whenever matches are held indoors.
Prior to entry, fans must either:
● Show their vaccination card or photo or digital image with name and dosage history.
○ Digital or photos of vaccination cards are acceptable.
OR
○ Show their printed or digital negative COVID-19 PCR or rapid test.

Individuals who cannot provide proof of vaccination or a valid negative COVID-19 test according to the conditions outlined above will not be allowed to enter Wake Forest Athletics indoor events.

LAST TIME OUT
Wake Forest traveled to Tallahassee, Fla. to play in their third ACC match, facing off against No. 29 Florida State, sweeping the Seminoles 7-0 Sunday.
Senior Eduardo Nava clinched the match for Wake Forest today, moving the Deacs to 19-4 and 3-0 in the ACC play. No. 62-ranked Nava ousted Andreja Petrovic, 7-5, 7-6(1) on court two.
The win over the Seminoles completes the weekend sweep in Florida after the Deacs topped No. 21 Miami, 4-3 on Friday.
HOME DOMINANCE
Since head coach Tony Bresky took over the reins in 2011, the Wake Forest men's tennis team has boasted a 164-23 mark in Winston-Salem. Since the 2016-17 season, the Demon Deacons have posted a remarkable 94-4 record in the friendly confines of the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
RANKED DEACS
On Wednesday (Mar. 9), per updated national rankings released by the International Tennis Association (ITA), Wake Forest as a team was ranked No. 6 and continued to see familiar names placed among the lists of singles and doubles.
Singles Rankings:
Wake Forest leads the all-time series with a decisive 42-11, as the Deacs have won the 19 of the last 23 meetings, dating back to 2000. The last time the Deacs played the Wolfpack was a 7-0 win in Raleigh in 2021.
NC State sits at 10-4 on the season, with their losses coming from then-No. 21 Miami, then-No. 29 Florida State, then-No. 7 Georgia and then-No. 18 Ole Miss. The Pack are most recently coming off an 0-2 weekend, dropping matches at Florida State and Miami.
Singles Rankings:
Thursday serves as the first meeting between the two programs. Bluefield State will come in at 3-4 on the season with wins over Newberry, Lincoln Memorial and King.
UP NEXT
The Deacs will take a week break before taking a road trip to the state of Virginia to take on Virginia Tech and Virginia over the next weekend. They will play VT on Friday, March 25 at 3 p.m, before heading to Charlottesville, Va. to take on the Cavaliers on Sunday, March 27 at 1 p.m.
