The Demon Deacons completed the regular-season portion of its 2022 slate with a 24-0 home record, eight of those victories coming against a ranked opponent.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Behind the festivities of honoring the program's senior class, No. 8 Wake Forest men's tennis (31-5, 11-1) scored a pair of home victories on Sunday, defeating No. 19 Duke (16-7, 8-4), 4-2, followed by a 5-0 decision against nationally-ranked Division III North Carolina Wesleyan (23-4).

With the wins, Wake Forest pushed its program-record performance at home to a perfect 24-0 this season. Wake Forest's win against Duke also marked the program's 19th consecutive regular-season victory against a 'Big Four' foe. Seventeen of those wins have happened over a ranked opponent as well.

On the backend of Sunday's doubleheader against North Carolina Wesleyan, the Demon Deacons cruised to a 5-0 victory with victories in singles action coming from Matthew Thomson, Jakob Schnaitter, Ben Draper and Taha Baadi.

Prior to the start of Sunday's matches, Wake Forest honored Tayte Dupree, Ben Draper, Jakob Schnaitter, Robert Maciag, Eduardo Nava, Rrezart Cungu and Yuval Solomon for their contributions to the program for Senior Day.

Quotable

"It was a great day for our program and our seniors," noted head coach Tony Bresky. "I felt we battled very well against a talented Duke team. Doubles was up for grabs, but we found a way, then Rrezart was big in his clinching match in singles. Finishing out the day (against North Carolina Wesleyan), I was analyzing how well our guys would remain focused, and they did well in going through doubles before putting up wins in straight-sets. It has been a good season so far - we are hoping to have a lot of tennis left in us."
