Men’s tennis slid into a high-energy match on Friday.
ROME, GA – Hitting the courts for postseason action, No. 2-seeded Wake Forest men's tennis took on its first test of the 2022 ACC Championships during Friday afternoon (April 22), facing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (10-13) in the quarterfinal round. The Demon Deacons (31-6) showcased collective effort through the lengthy contest but ultimately fell in a 4-2 decision.
Matthew Thomson and Ben Draper provided clutch play in doubles for the Deacs – grabbing their fifth win of the spring in a clinching fashion. No. 38 Siddhant Banthia/Jakob Schnaitter also finished on the winning side, as the duo notched a tenth season victory.
Individually, Schnaitter moved up to a 22-2 record in singles.
Quotable

Matt and Ben made a key comeback to clinch doubles for us. In singles, Jakob played a balanced match from start to finish. We'll now have to regroup and focus, moving forward."
