Why Wake Forest
"I chose Wake Forest because I was familiar with it from a friend and I heard all good things. There are nothing but good things about the people, about the campus and about the education. I knew I wanted to go see it for myself and when I finally was able to come up to see it, I met the coaching staff, people around campus and saw how beautiful the campus was. I knew that this was the place for me.
What stood out to me about the team was how kind they were and how they got along with each other. Some teams you can notice certain things, certain animosities between people and I wasn't able to see any of that here. Everyone greeted me, had so much respect for me and each other it was very refreshing and they were willing to answer any questions that I had.
When it comes to the university, definitely the education. The project management masters program that they have and how they go about it was very interesting and I'm just excited to be a part of that. I wanted to get away from Texas and to see how beautiful everything is, I can't wait to be there." - Tamia Jones

From Coach Gebbia
"Tamia is a veteran guard who has played a lot of high-level basketball during her four seasons at SMU. We knew we wanted to add a player with plenty of experience at the point guard position. At that position more than any other, experience is key. Tamia will add to a great upperclassman core that learned our system over the past few years. She is coming off her best season and is a great distributor of the ball while also knowing when to go and score on her own. She is a three-level scorer who has improved her shooting percentage and from behind the arc throughout her career. Tamia has a great personality that will fit well within our team and we are looking forward to getting her on the floor with the team when we return this summer." - Megan Gebbia
