The Bresky Era
Since arriving at Wake Forest, head coach Tony Bresky has enjoyed a decorated career, winning ITA National Coach of the Year in 2018, along with garnering ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2013 and 2016. Additionally, Bresky has been tabbed ITA Regional Coach of the Year on five occasions (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2024). Of note, Bresky led Wake Forest to its first-ever national title in 2018, after accumulating a 33-2 mark.

Individually, Bresky has coached two ACC Players of the Year (Noah Rubin and Melios Efstathiou), along with 35 All-ACC selections and 10 ITA Singles All-Americans.

During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 330 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton.

  • ACC Tournament: 2016, 2018, 2019
  • ACC Regular Season: 2017, 2018, 2019

Returners Shine at NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships
In the fall, standout DK Suresh Ekambaram was officially tabbed as a singles All-American following his run to the semifinals at the NCAA Championships. It marked his first time earning the honors in singles and second time overall, after being named a doubles All-American back in the spring with Holden Koons.

He became the 13th Wake Forest player to accomplish the feat and just the second Demon Deacon to become an All-American in singles and doubles, joining Cory Parr (2006-2009). Additionally, Suresh is just the fourth Demon Deacon to reach the semifinals and first since Petros Chrysochos and Borna Gojo both made a run to the finals in 2018.

After earning automatic qualification to the championships by winning the Carolina Regionals, the doubles pair of freshman Luca Pow and graduate student Luciano Tacchi carried the momentum into Texas.

The duo became All-Americans for the first time after a comeback victory over Indiana's No. 52-ranked Facundo Yunis/Jip van Assendelft in the round of 16. It marked the ninth time in program history a doubles pair earned All-American status.

Postseason Success
  • Last season, the Demon Deacons were selected as the No. 6 overall seed for the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament.
    • The nod marked the Demon Deacons' 11th-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 23rd all-time.
    • The Demon Deacons upset No. 2 [3] Virginia, 4-1, in the quarterfinals to reach the NCAA Semifinals for the third time in program history and the first time since 2019.
The Matchup - Tennessee Tech
The Golden Eagles are coming off of a 4-13 season, including a 3-2 mark in conference play and a semifinal appearance in the Horizon League tournament. Tennessee Tech will open the season on the road against Tennessee in Knoxville before heading to Winston-Salem.

The Demon Deacons are 7-1 all-time against the Golden Eagles, including a seven-match winning streak. The lone loss came in 1971. Of note, Wake Forest has swept the last four meetings in the series.

The Matchup - ETSU
Last season, the Buccaneers captured their 13th SoCon tournament championship and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. They open the 2025 season Saturday afternoon against Clemson on the road.

Wake Forest is 28-2 against ETSU all-time, dating back to 1974. The Demon Deacons have won 25-consecutive matches against the Buccaneers.
