- Women's Soccer:
- Wake Forest kicked off its 2025 campaign with a 2-0 victory over SMU, featuring a career-first goal for freshman Kylie Maxwell in her collegiate debut. Also notching a collegiate first in her debut was freshman Alejandra Gomez, who recorded an assist on Maxwell's goal.
- The Deacons returned to Spry Stadium for the ACC/SEC clash with the LSU Tigers. Sophomore Lola Ressler recorded the first goal of her collegiate career to push Wake Forest to the 1-0 victory.
- In goal for the Demon Deacons was redshirt-sophomore Valentina Amaral, who recorded four total saves during the back-to-back shutouts.
- Wake Forest is one of three teams in the ACC to not allow goals during the opening weekend and just one of two teams to do so through the first two games of the season.
- Field Hockey:
- The Demon Deacons began the 2025 campaign on Tuesday night, hosting North Carolina at Kentner.
- The team returns 62 of its 80 points (77.5%) from the 2024 season.
- All three student-athletes who reached double-digit points return, as Lauren Storey (17), Faye Janse (14) and Mia Montag (10) look to build on outstanding campaigns a season ago.
- It's been a strong summer for the Deacs at the national team level.
- Junior Mia Schoenbeck and Team USA captured silver at the Pan American Cup to clinch a spot at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup.
- Fellow junior Ava Moore and the Junior Women's National Team competed in the Junior Pan American Games throughout the month of August.
- Rising sophomores Lena Keller and Mia Montag competed with Team Germany at the Four Nations Tournament.
- Alumna Brooke McCusker and Grace Delmotte competed with Team Canada at the Pan American Games, fighting for a fifth-place finish.
- Cross Country:
- Wake Forest unveiled its 2025 schedule earlier this month, featuring multiple marquee meets against some of the top cross country programs in the country.
- After opening up the season in a dual meet against UNCG at Salem Lake (Aug. 29), the women's cross country program is set to compete in the Queen City Invite on Sept. 12 in Charlotte.
- The Deacs will return to Charlotte on Oct. 10 as they participate in the Royals Challenge.
- The Demon Deacons will travel out-of-state twice during the regular season, competing at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo. on Sept. 26, and the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 17 in College Station, Texas.
- Postseason begins on Oct. 31 with the ACC Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Louisville, Ky.
- The NCAA Southeast Regional is set for Nov. 14 in Earlysville, Va., while the NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held in Columbia, Mo. on Nov. 22.
- Volleyball:
- The Demon Deacons volleyball team will have its first home appearance inside Varsity Arena this Saturday with an exhibition match against App State. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
- Wake Forest officially kicks off its regular season on Aug. 29, set for 11 non-conference matches before a 20-match ACC slate.
- The Deacs will first travel to Cincinnati for the 2025 Bearcat Invitational, facing the host Bearcats and Michigan.
- Head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer is in his first season at the helm of the program, leading a roster that features eight returners and seven newcomers.
- Women's Golf:
- Following another successful program year under the leadership of Tony and Vi Golding Head Coach Kim Lewellen and Lyons Family Associate Head Coach Ryan Potter, the Wake Forest women's golf team announced the schedule for the upcoming season earlier this month.
- The fall slate features four tournaments, including a return to the Jackson T. Stephens Cup where women's golf alum Carolina Chacarra ('24) secured an individual win.
- The Demon Deacons will travel to two in-state tournaments, making their return to the Ruth Chris Intercollegiate in Chapel Hill, N.C., on Oct. 17-19, followed by the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. on Oct. 24-26.
- Following another successful program year under the leadership of Tony and Vi Golding Head Coach Kim Lewellen and Lyons Family Associate Head Coach Ryan Potter, the Wake Forest women's golf team announced the schedule for the upcoming season earlier this month.
- Women's Tennis:
- Wake Forest unveiled its fall 2025 schedule earlier this month with opportunities for the Deacs to qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships in November.
- To open fall play, Wake Forest will compete in Furman's annual Debbie Southern Fall Classic for a ninth-straight year.
- Wake Forest enters its 16th year with head coach Jeff Wyshner leading the way, returning seven players on its roster, along with two newcomers. A senior trio of Nevena Carton, Jingyi Li and Whitley Pate headlines the team.
