Wake Forest Athletics is proud to unveil a state-of-the-art video board for Deacon Nation during the 2025 field hockey season.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – As part of its continued commitment to delivering a World Class Student-Athlete Experience and the Best Fan Experience in North Carolina, Wake Forest Athletics is proud to unveil a new state-of-the-art video board at Kentner Stadium — home of the Demon Deacons field hockey and track programs.

The board delivers high-resolution imagery and wide-angle visibility to fans in every seat. It features industry-leading environmental protection, ensuring it operates as expected in the outdoors of the Wake Forest campus.

This enhancement represents the most recent impact of Wake Forest Athletics' In Her Wake campaign, which aims to surpass $100 million by 2029 as the Deacon Club worked with a generous donor to help fund its development.

The display is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show one large image or to be divided into multiple zones of varying content. This content can be any combination of live video, instant replays, statistics and game information, graphics and animations, or sponsorship messaging.

The new board made its debut today, at the 2025 field hockey season opener, enhancing the game day atmosphere that gives Wake Forest a true home-field advantage.

Regarding this specific video board project, Wake Forest Athletics partnered with Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota.

Video Display Details
The new board consists of two LED video displays:
  • 18'x32' 8mm Main Display (that faces the playing field and stands)
  • 12'x22' 8mm Back Display (located on the back side of the display facing Wake Forest Road)
The board serves as a significant enhancement to Kentner Stadium's previous fixed-digit scoreboard, which lacked video capability. The back display in particular will provide new opportunities as it can be used on non gamedays, similar to a marquee for messaging and videos for both athletic and university needs.
