Women’s Tennis Set to Play Three Matches in Final Non-Conference Weekend of Action
2/19/2026 12:38:00 PM | Women's Tennis
Charlotte, William & Mary and App State will all make the trip to Winston-Salem.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the first, and only, time this season, Wake Forest (5-3) will play matches on three consecutive days. The Demon Deacons are set to welcome Charlotte on Friday (Feb. 20), William & Mary on Saturday (Feb. 21) and App State on Sunday (Feb. 22).
Friday's match versus Charlotte is set for a 4 p.m. start time. The matches over the weekend will get going earlier in the day, with Saturday's contest against William & Mary set for 11 a.m. and Sunday's scheduled for 10 a.m. All three matches will be held at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
The Deacs will look to extend their win streak after beating Memphis and Liberty last week. The team played some of its best tennis of the year in those two matches. Kady Tannenbaum, Sankavi Gownder and Evie Oxford all had perfect weekends, with all three going 4-0 in singles and doubles action against the Tigers and Flames.
Wake Forest did battle with Charlotte and William & Mary on the road last season, beating both away from home in 2024-25. The Deacs have not played App State since 2017, but have an impressive 14-match winning streak against the Sun Belt squad.
These three games are the final tune-ups for the Demon Deacons before they set out west and begin ACC play. They will play No. 22 Stanford (4-3) and Cal (2-0) next weekend.
