Wake Wraps Up Action At The Niswonger Invite

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track team completed a busy weekend with some nice showings on day 2 of the Niswonger Invite on the campus of East Tennessee State University.
Junior Jon Reid shined in the finals of the men's 400-meter dash, crossing the line fourth in a time of 49.48.
Fellow junior Marcus Dillon finished fifth in the men's unseeded mile run with a time of 4:22.74 while senior Phillip Warsaw finished 12th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.57.
The men's DMR team of Warsaw, Dillon, Nick Lepley and Justin Bookheimer ran a solid race and finished fourth with a time of 10:25.93.
Junior Thomas Sensing turned in a mark of 49-07.25 to finish ninth in the event.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team capped the night with a strong showing, taking fourth overall with a time of 3:16.37. The team won its heat by over nine seconds.
On the women's side, Nicole Castronuova finished fifth in the finals of the women's 400-meter dash, crossing the line in 57.15.
Freshman Laura Rapp and sophomore Caitlin Crawford finished fifth and sixth in the women's mile run with time of 5:11.35 and 5:12.37 respectively while sophomore Anna Nosenko took second with a time of 4:56.07.
Senior Merry Placer ran a season-best 10:04.10 to take second in the women's 3,000-meter run while sophomore Chelsea Bolton took seventh in a time of 10:29.26.
Senior Brent LaRue competed this weekend in the heptathlon at the Wildcat Invite hosted by Kansas State. LaRue was third after the first day and performed quite well on the second day, running a solid 8.23 in the 60-mete hurdles and winning the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:41.10.
At the Clemson Combined Events, Tyler Dodds finished seventh with a total of 4,769. His best finish came in the 60-meter dash, as he clocked in a 7.10.
