WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest junior Anna Nosenko has been named the King Fisher Society Student-Athlete of the Week.
The award, sponsored by the King Fisher Society, seeks to honor a student-athlete who has excelled both on and off the playing field as a Demon Deacon.
Nosenko is coming off a tremendous weekend at the ACC Championships where she won both the 5,000 and 10,000m events. She became just the second Demon Deacon to won both events at the same meet, joining All-American Michelle Sikes who first pulled the feat back in 2007.
The junior also earned All-ACC honors with second place finishes in the both the 3,000 and 5,000m events at the Indoor ACC Championships earlier this year. In all, Nosenko has recorded a pair of ACC titles and has been named All-ACC five times during her career.
The native of Ukraine is also doing very well in the classroom. She earned Dean's List and ACC Honor Roll honors in 2008 and 2009 and has been on both the indoor and outdoor Academic All-ACC Teams each of the last two years. Nosenko is a political science major.
