WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 17 Wake Forest field hockey team dropped a Sunday afternoon contest to the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks by a score of 1-0 inside Kentner Stadium.
Despite outshooting the Redhawks (7-3, 2-0 MAC) 12-5, Wake Forest (3-4, 0-1 ACC) was unable to find the back of the net against a stingy Miami defense.
Three different Demon Deacons recorded a pair of shots with Nat Friedman, Faye Janse and Ava Moore all putting up two strikes while nine different Wake attackers recorded at least one shot.
How It Happened
Quotables
"Hats off to Miami. They capitalized when they needed to. I think the team is as frustrated as the coaching staff. It's our responsibility to regroup. We look forward to finding solutions and a better brand of hockey this week. We're capable of it. We just didn't show it today." - head coach Jen Averill
