WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Coming off the highest offensive output of the season, Wake Forest will look to extend their winning streak against conference foes Duke and Louisville this weekend at Kentner Stadium.

First touch against the No. 11 Blue Devils is set for 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra on Friday, Oct. 11 while Sunday's match against the Cardinal will begin at 1 p.m. also on ACCNX.

Opponent/Series History
  • Wake Forest and Duke will meet for the 86th time on Friday with the Deacs holding a 37-48 record against the Blue Devils, as well as a 16-24 record at Kentner Stadium. Jen Averill has been at the helm for 36 of the Demon Deacons 37 wins over the Blue Devils and is 36-25 against Duke in her tenure.
  • Wake Forest and Louisville will play against each other for the 24th time on Sunday with the Deacs leading the all-time series 14-9. The Demon Deacons lost last year's meeting 1-0 in a shootout.
Wake Forest Highlights
  • Head coach Jen Averill is in her 33rd season at the helm of the Wake Forest field hockey program, amassing an overall record of 423-239-3 as a Demon Deacon and an overall mark of 443-271-6 in 33 years of coaching.
  • Wake's underclassmen have been the story so far, as freshmen and sophomore student-athletes have combined for 38 of Wake's 51 points.
  • Junior goalkeeper Ellie Todd is first among league keepers at 4.10 SPG, averaging 0.10 more saves per game than the next closest ACC goalie.
    • Todd leads the league with 41 saves on the season and is the only ACC goalie with a save percentage over .750 and at least 20 saves.
    • She is one of five ACC goalies with three shutouts so far this season.
    • Her eight saves against Michigan are the third most by an ACC goalie this season so far this season.
  • Sophomore Mia Schoenbeck was named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, announced by the league ahead of the season.
    • In her debut season, Schoenbeck netted two goals and an assist to finish her freshman campaign with five points. She made 13 starts for the Demon Deacons, appearing in all 17 matches.
    • The Louisville, Kentucky native was one of just two freshmen named to the NFHCA South All-Region Second Team.
    • A member of Team USA at the 2024 Junior Pan American Championships, Schoenbeck helped guide her country to silver at the games, including a goal in the 32nd minute against Canada in the final game of the group stage.
    • Schoenbeck made her mark early on the 2024 season with an assist, finding fellow sophomore Faye Janse for the first goal of the 2024 season for the Deacs and followed it with her first goal against VCU rocketing a penalty corner into the back of the cage.
    • She followed that up by scoring a brace in the 6-0 win against Davidson.
  • Freshman Lauren Storey is one of 13 student-athletes in the ACC with four goals or more to start the year, having struck four times in the last five matches.
    • App State had no answers for Storey in the second half, as she fired a penalty stroke past the App State keeper in the third quarter to extend the Wake Forest lead. The Auckland, New Zealand native capped the scoring for Wake early in the fourth quarter. Storey sent a laser into the bottom left corner of the cage to make it 3-0 before the half against VCU, before adding her fourth last weekend against Kent State.
  • Senior Brooke McCusker is one of 19 ACC student-athletes with three or more assists on the season.
    • McCusker got her first of the season at App State last Friday and added a pair against VCU on Sunday to cap a stellar weekend of play.
    • She added her first goal of the year and 10th of her career against Kent State.
  • Sophomore Faye Janse had a career day against Davidson with a pair of goals for the first time in her career against the Wildcats. Janse was effective, putting three shots on cage, with two finding the goal.
