
During First 10,000 Meter Race, Brooke Wilson Breaks Program Record

Sophomore Brooke Wilson delivered an extraordinary performance, clocking 32:50.07 during day two of the Raleigh Relays.
RALEIGH, N.C. - Raleigh Relays picked back up for the second day of competition, with sophomore Brooke Wilson capturing seventh place in the women's 10,000-meter race. Since 2007, the record has stood at 32:58.20 set by Michelle Sikes. Tonight, Wilson clocked 32:50.07 during her first-ever race in the event.
Angelina Perez joined Wilson on the starting line, finishing shortly after in a dominant time of 33:23.72, en route to a 15th place finish. Perez now ranks No. 4 all-time for Wake Forest.
Also in the 10,000m, Mackenzie Hart delivered a personal-best time of 34:27.81, while Alli Boehm posted 34:29.57.
In addition to the 10,000m, Wake Forest continued to shine on the track and in the field. Abby Stankus got Wake Forest started early this morning, with a personal-best mark of 1.60m in the high jump.
The 1500 meter followed, with Emma Douglass posting an extraordinary time of 4:19.73, placing 22nd. Rylan Engels stormed to a time of 4:20.30, finishing 28th. Douglass sits at eighth on the program list, with Engels ranking ninth.
Molly Dreher, competing unmatched, posted 4:22.05, while Grace Wassell finished in 4:29.08, Emma DeVries in 4:31.57, and Carlita Kaliher in 4:38.49, all earning personal-best times. Palmer Walstad recorded a season-best time of 4:28.74.
