No. 25 Wake Forest Travels West for The Prestige

In their last outing, junior Tom Haberer earned his first career collegiate win, helping the Demon Deacons claim their third tournament victory.
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Fresh off their third tournament title of the 2025–26 season, the Wake Forest men's golf team aims to keep the momentum rolling as they head to La Quinta, California, to compete in The Prestige beginning Monday.
The 24-team field features 11 programs from Power 4 conferences, including ACC members Clemson, No. 25 Wake Forest, SMU and Stanford. Seven teams enter the tournament ranked inside the nation's top 50.
Individuals Kyle Haas, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Maddux Cook will compete as individuals at the GC at Terra Lago in Indio, California with tee times starting at 10:30 a.m. ET.
The Deacs will kick off the opening round with tee times beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET, paired alongside Texas Tech and Stanford.

At the Bryan National Collegiate, Prieto claimed his first collegiate title as a Demon Deacon with a score of 203 (-13), tying for eighth lowest 54-hole score to par in program history. Prieto secured a top-10 finish at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, tying for sixth on the individual leaderboard. At the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, Prieto claimed a runner-up finish, marking his fourth top-five finish of his junior season. Prieto shot his best in round three, carding a career-low 66 (-6).
Junior Tom Haberer claimed his first collegiate title by two strokes with a score of 203 (-13), tying for the eighth lowest 54-hole score to par in program history. Haberer's win was highlighted by three under-par rounds, including a low five-under 67 in round two, tallying 17 birdies and carding just four bogeys over three rounds. Haberer had a second place finish at the Hamptons Intercollegiate, marking his second run-up finish this season.
In his most recent outing at the Palmas del mar Collegiate, Senior Jakob Melin grabbed a top-25 finish closing out the tournament at even-par. Melin picked up his second top-5 finish of his senior season, ending in fifth place at nine-under at The Bryson Invitational. Senior Jakob Melin ended the Hamptons Intercollegiate inside of the top 20 after having a pair of top-10 finishes to start the season.
Sophomore Jorge Hao captured his first collegiate title, tying the fourth-lowest 54-hole score to par (since spring 1976) with a final score of 199 (-17). Hao's first victory was highlighted by three under-par rounds, including two consecutive rounds of 65 (-7). Leading by five strokes, Hao tallied an impressive 19 birdies and four bogeys over three rounds. Hao shot his best in the final round of the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, with a final-round 69 (-3) to tie for 23rd.
Playing as an individual at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate, senior Boyd Owens shot back-to-back under-par rounds to pick up a season-best finish, tying for 16th at four-under.

Tournament Format
The tournament consists of 54 holes of stroke play, with 18 holes played each day. The Prestige runs Monday, February 16 through Wednesday, February 18. Teams will play the first 18 holes on Monday, February 16, with tee times beginning at 5:00 p.m. (ET). The Deacs will be paired with players from Texas Tech and Stanford.
