Last Time Out
Wake Forest fell to No. 11 Virginia in their first home ACC contest of the season by a final score of 3-1 at Kentner Stadium on Sept. 24.

After a scoreless opening frame from both squads, the Deacs took a 1-0 lead over the Cavaliers at the 17-minute mark thanks to a goal from Meike Lanckohr. Lanckohr's seventh goal of her junior campaign was set up by assists from Elisha Evans and Grace Delmotte following a penalty corner. For Evans, this marked her fifth assist of the season, tying for a team high.

Virginia responded with a pair of goals in the second period to take a 2-1 advantage into intermission. Seven minutes into the second half, the Cavaliers increased their lead to 3-1 with an unassisted goal, marking the final score of the game.

Overall, Wake Forest outshot Virginia by a tally of 10-9 and doubled their penalty corner opportunities six-to-three.

The Deacs and Cardinals face off for the 21st time on Friday. The teams have split the final four matchups, with Louisville earning wins in 2019 and 2020, and Wake Forest posting two victories in 2018.

Heading into the weekend, Lanckohr ranks second in the ACC and tied for 13th in the nation in goals scored. Additionally, she has found the back of the net in three-straight games.

In the Deacs' ACC opener against the Blue Devils on Friday, Sept. 17, Lanckohr netted two first-half goals in the 3-1 victory, her second multi-goal performance of her career. On Sunday, Sept. 19, the Voerendaal, Netherlands native found the back of the net for the Deacs' first goal of the game.

Glaister a Mainstay in Goal
