
Sixth-Seeded Wake Forest Squares Off With Third-Seeded Miami on Friday in ACC Tournament

The Deacs and Hurricanes hit the diamond in its first matchup of the season on Friday, May 27 at 3 p.m. in Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE – The Wake Forest baseball team will face Miami to cap off the 2022 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament on Friday, May 27 at 3 p.m. inside Truist Field.
The Deacs (39-17-1), who earned the sixth seed and landed in Pool C, will take on the Hurricanes (39-17) in the first matchup between the two teams this season.
First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. and will be live on the Regional Sports Networks. Fans can tune into an audio streaming broadcast through the Wake Forest Athletics app and follow the Demon Deacons social media accounts (@WakeBaseball) for all in-game updates and information.
Wake Forest ended the regular season with 39 wins, tying the 1999 Demon Deacons for the second-most regular season wins in program history. Overall, the Deacs increased their win total by 19 games from last season (39 wins to 20 wins), the largest year-to-year turnaround in program history.
2022 ACC Tournament Information and Schedule
Pool play games will take place on Tuesday, May 24-Friday, May 27 and will be broadcasted on the Regional Sports Networks and ACC Network Extra.
The team with the best record in each pool will advance to the semifinals, which are scheduled for Saturday, May 28 at 1 and 5 p.m. on ACC Network. If teams are tied at the end of pool competition, the team with the highest seed in the respective pool will advance.
The 2022 ACC Championship is set for Sunday, May 29 at noon on ESPN2.

Wake Forest in the ACC Tournament
The Demon Deacons have won the ACC tournament title four times in program history, highlighted by three championships in a four-year span (1977, 1998, 1999 and 2001).
Wake Forest and Miami have faced off four times in the ACC Tournament (2017, 2012, 2011 and 2007). The Demon Deacons defeated the Hurricanes, 7-3, in the 2007 ACC Championship semifinals in Jacksonville in the first ever matchup in the conference tournament.

The field of 64 for the 2022 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament will be announced on Monday, May 30 at Noon on ESPN2.
The 64 teams will be placed in 16 different four-team regions, with teams seeded one through four to compete in a double-elimination format.
Games then start with regionals and continue on to super regionals before the College World Series begins Friday, June 17 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
