5/8/2022 7:53:00 PM | Women's Golf

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 4 Wake Forest women's golf team will begin postseason play Monday, May 9-Wednesday, May 11 as the top seed at the NCAA Franklin Regional, hosted by Vanderbilt in Franklin, Tennessee.

Other teams headed to Franklin include ACC opponent Duke and fellow top 20 teams in Alabama and Texas A&M. Six-seed Vanderbilt will serve as host of the regional at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.

The Deacs are coming off winning the 2022 ACC Championship title two weeks ago and will be making their second-consecutive regional appearance as a No. 1 seed. That was the second title in four years for the Demon Deacons and the seventh in program history.

The 2021-22 season has been a successful one for Wake Forest, as they swept the ACC awards for Coach of the Year (Kim Lewellen), Player of the Year (Rachel Kuehn) and Freshman of the Year (Carolina Chacarra). They also landed a program-record four players on the All-ACC Team in Kuehn, Chacarra, Lauren Walsh and Mimi Rhodes.

The Deacs won four team titles and four individual titles in the regular season, along with Kuehn and Chacarra each being named to the 2022 Arnold Palmer Cup Teams and the ANNIKA Award Watch List. Kuehn and Walsh, along with former teammate Emilia Migliaccio, were also selected for the 2022 Curtis Cup this summer. Head Coach Kim Lewellen was named to the WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List and Associate Head Coach Ryan Potter was named the assistant coach for Team USA at the Arnold Palmer Cup.
