Demon Deacons to Compete in Four Meets Over Two Days

Wake Forest track and field will travel to Boston, Mass., Lynchburg, Va., and Clemson, S.C., to compete on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Demon Deacons will compete on multiple fronts on Feb. 14 and 15, with two groups traveling to Boston, Mass., for the Eagle Elite and David Hemery Valentine Invitationals. Another group will compete at the Darius Dixon Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., while Rynard Swanepoel travels to Clemson, S.C., to race in the 800-meter event at the Tiger Paw Invitational.

The Eagle Elite Invitational will be streamed via Lancer Timing, while live results can be found here. The Darius Dixon Invitational will be streamed on ESPN+, with live results available here. Additionally, live results for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational can be found here.

Robbie Grace is set to compete at the Darius Dixon Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14, in Lynchburg, Va., after capturing her fifth-consecutive first-place with a leap of 6.11 meters  at the Doc Hale meet in Blacksburg, Va., on Feb. 7.

Taking the field alongside Grace is Bridget McNally, who secured second place with a personal-best jump of 5.87m in Blacksburg, Va. 

Trailblazers on the Track
Several Demon Deacons will compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday in Boston, Mass., following stellar performances at the Gamecock Challenge, with eight Deacs finishing in the top 20 for the men's mile.

Following this dominant performance, the Deacs have been ranked sixth in the men's 3000-meter and fifth in the 5000-meter, announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

On Friday, the men's mile and 3000m events will feature Paul Specht, JoJo Jourdon, Luke Tewalt, Charlie Sprott, and Daniel Winter.

For the women, Emma Douglass will step up to the starting line for the Eagle Elite Invitational, also in Boston, Mass., competing in the 800m. 

In her last race at the Gamecock Challenge, Douglass shattered her previous best of 2:06.61 in the event, clocking a time of 2:05.25 to claim first place. Her performance moved her to second on the Wake Forest indoor all-time list, just behind Aleeya Hutchin's (2:04.73).

Standout performer Charlotte Augenstein will race in the mile after delivering a dominant performance in Columbia, S.C., claiming first with a personal-best time of 4:40.82 in the event.

Rylan Engels, Elizabeth Whaley, and Molly Dreher will race alongside Augenstein after completing the top 5 at the Gamechock challenge, placing third, fourth, and fifth.

On the Hunt
Hunter Jones and Joe O'Brien will compete in the 5000m race at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, after securing sixth and seventh place finishes at the Gamecock Challenge, clocking times of 4:04.43 and 4:04.54.

Having rounded out the top 15 at the Gamecock Challenge with a time of 4:05.22, Aidan Ross will take the line alongside Jones and O'Brien.
Rejoining the squad for the mile are Wes Shipsey and Bryce Gilmore, along with Grant Morgenfeld for the 3000m.

On Saturday, the Deacs will return for day two of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, with Angelina Perez making her return racing in the 3000m.


In her last outing, Perez powered through the field in her collegiate indoor debut with a stellar time of  15:47.38 in the 5000m at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.

Brooke Wilson is set to join Perez for the 3000m, after finishing the mile in 4:41.65 at the Gamecock Challenge.

Deacs Lead the Field
Isabella Gera steps back into the throwing circle at the Darius Dixon Invitational in Lynchburg, Va., ready to compete in shot put and weight throw after dominating with first and second place finishes at the Camel City Sprints Invitational and Camel City Distance Classic on Feb. 7 and 8.

During the 2025 indoor campaign, Gera has secured four first-place finishes in shot put and one in weight throw.

With three first-place finishes this indoor season and a personal best of 18.43m, Jacob Goldberg joins Gera to compete in weight throw.
