LYNCHBURG, VA. – Battling a 2-0 deficit, the Deacons scored two goals in the second period and one goal in double overtime to lift Wake Forest over the Flames 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Liberty (8-3) got on the board early with two goals in the first 20 minutes of play. The first goal came off a penalty corner as Agueda Moroni who ranks second in the NCAA in goals per game, got past Wake Forest keeper Isla Bint for her 17th goal of the season. The Flames extended their lead as Abby Julius found Jill Bolton on the cross to give Liberty a 2-0 lead in the first period.

Reigning ACC and NFHCA Offensive Player of the Week, Jule Grashoff, scored the equalizer in the 61st-minute with her eighth goal of the season. She dribbled around the goalie and lifted the ball into the back of the net to tie the game 2-2.
Both defenses held strong, not allowing either team to score in the final minutes of regulation or the first overtime period.
