  • Track & Field:
    • This past weekend, the Wake Forest track & field team hosted the 2025 Wake Forest invitational at Kentner Stadium, as it racked up eight top-five finishes, new personal bests, ACC qualifiers, regional marks and a monumental program record.
      • Friday night was highlighted by senior Emma Douglass, who blazed through the women's 800m, breaking a 22-year-old school record.
        • With a powerful kick in the final stretch, Douglass crossed in 2:03.49, toppling Nikeya Green's 2003 record of 2:04.46. She not only won her heat but finished fourth overall, marking her second program record this season.
        • She now ranks No. 18 nationally and No. 10 in the East in the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Rankings.
      • The momentum kept building with Rylan Engels, who recorded a personal best in the women's 1500m, winning her heat and placing 20th overall. Her time now ranks her second all-time in Wake Forest outdoor history.
      • Brooke Wilson continued her stellar season, running a personal best 15:47.74 to take fifth in the 5000m. The performance moved her to No. 2 on Wake Forest's all-time list, just behind Michelle Sikes' 15:06.28 set in 2007.
    • Wake Forest will now look ahead to two meets this weekend with the Penn Relay's (April 24-26) and the Charlotte Invitational (April 26).
  • Women's Golf:
    •  No. 9 Wake Forest Women's Golf took second place this past weekend at the 2025 ACC Women's Golf Championship, after defeating No. 1 Stanford in the semifinal round.
      • Through three rounds of stroke play,  the Deacons finished fourth and +1 (865), earning their spot in Friday's match play competition.
        • Freshman Sarah Lydic provided key numbers for the Deacons in her first postseason appearances. Lydic shot the Deacs' lowest score of round two and finished one stroke under par through two rounds.
        • Leading the round three charge was senior Carolina Chacarra, who hit all 18 greens in regulation and carded a bogey-free day for Wake Forest's best round of the day, as well as the week with a final score of 68 (-4). Tied with Chacarra inside the top 10 was sophomore Macy Pate, who finished an even par on the final day of stroke play.
      • In the first round of match play, the fourth-seeded Deacons faced the fifth-seeded North Carolina Tar Heels for an in-state rivalry matchup.
        • Wake Forest defeated the Tar Heels 3-0 to advance to the semifinals and face the undefeated Stanford Cardinals.
        • Competition remained neck and neck as both teams swapped points back and forth throughout the round. Lydic remained dominant throughout her match and finished 8&6 to secure the Deacs first point, followed close behind by freshman Chloe Kovelesky. The Boca Raton native finished 2UP, despite being down three on hole 10. Pate grabbed the final point for the Deacs and secured a trip to the championship on the last hole of the day.
      • The Demon Deacons faced the two-seed Florida State in search of back-to-back conference titles and despite an incredible team effort, would ultimately fall to the Seminoles in the final round.
  • Women's Tennis:
    • Wake Forest recently competed in the 2025 ACC Women's Tennis Championships at the Cary Tennis Park.
      • The Demon Deacons secured a 4-2 victory over the No. 11-seed SMU during the second round of the tournament last Wednesday.
        • Graduate student Anna Zhang came away with the match-clinching victory as she defeated Ellie Pittman in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
        • The Demon Deacons also earned victories from junior Nevena Carton and freshman Kady Tannenbaum in singles action, as well as wins from Carton/Tannenbaum and Zhang and junior Whitley Pate to secure the doubles point.
      • Wake Forest's run in the ACC Tournament came to a close on Thursday as the Deacs fell to No. 25 and sixth-seeded Notre Dame in the third round, 4-2.
        • Pate came away with a comfortable straight-set victory at fourth singles, while redshirt sophomore Krystal Blanch claimed a three-set win at second singles to give Wake Forest their two wins in the afternoon.
    • Wake Forest will now await its NCAA Tournament fate, as the event's selection show is set to air on April 28. Fans can tune into NCAA.com for the reveal, along with additional details to come.
  • Women's Basketball:
    • In recent weeks the Wake Forest women's basketball team has announced the addition of four players for the upcoming season including three transfers and one addition to the 2025 incoming freshman class.
      • This brings the total number of incoming players for the upcoming season to seven as the Demon Deacons also announced the signing of four freshman additions during the early signing period in November.
